Top Miami Heat Trade Targets: Exploring 2024 Offseason Rumors

The NBA offseason has returned to South Florida – a bit earlier than Heat fans have become used to – and the team remains in the same position they’ve found themselves in the last handful of years: in need of an influx of talent.

After the Boston Celtics were embarrassed by the Heat in the 2023 postseason, they retooled by adding Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis and now find themselves in the NBA Finals. Now, having lost to the Celtics handily in the 2024 playoffs, it is the Heat’s turn to retool if they hope to remain competitive.

The Bam Adebayo-Jimmy Butler-Tyler Herro era has run its course in Miami, and without a deep playoff run to show for it this season, there is no hiding that the team is in desperate need of a major shakeup. Even if it means the Heat strike out in yet another offseason – which the fans would absolutely bemoan after years of whiffs – it is necessary to keep swinging for the fences.

Here, we will examine five wishful-yet-realistic trade options for Miami as they enter the 2024 offseason. To borrow a phrase from Michael Scott, there is no question about it, I am ready to get hurt again.
