1. BUSTED: New York Football Giants
We are nine weeks through the season and the Giants have been a dumpster fire for a vast majority of the season. They were sellers at the trade deadline and waved goodbye to veteran Giant Lenoard Williams. On top of this, their recently signed QB is out for the rest of the season with a knee injury. Saquon Barkley is the only bright spot on this offense and it is only a matter of time before he is out of New York. The Giants knocked off the three seed Vikings in last year's playoffs, and that looks to be the peak of Daniel Jones career as a Giant. Brian Daboll is going to have his work cut out for him, as he is likely the only piece worth retaining from a team building aspect. For the love of god, please do not let Marvin Harrison JR. get drafted here…. Oh and they play a pissed off Cowboys team this week. Yikes.
2. DOOMED: Arthur Smith
I don’t even know where to start with this dude. All I know is he better turn it around quickly or else he is going to get canned this offseason. Kyle Pitts, Bijan Robison, Drake London. These are youthful athletes who could step into elite status at their respective positions. Only problem is these players serve more as decoys than as priorities. Arthur Smith was asked by a member of the media during a post game press conference why Bijan is not seeing more red zone/goal line carries. His explanation to this simple question was over 5 minutes long and made about as much sense as organic chemistry to a 13 year old. I do believe Taylor Heincke can make some improvements to this but do not underestimate the culture/ locker room chemistry factor. Look at the raiders for a Prime example of this. Arthur is on the hot seat for sure.
3 . BOOM: Deebo Samuel
Samuel is expected to return back to action in week 10 as the 49ers square off against the Jaguars. San Fran is on a three game losing streak and that conveniently matches up with the amount of time Deebo has missed. I expect Kyle Shannahan to get the ball in Samuels hands early in the 1st Quarter. Once the offense settles in, the Niners will return to the offense they were in September. Deebo’s presence will snap this offense back into form. Purdy has struggled with pressure, he once favored George Kittle in these situation but the film has caught up. In the 2023 season, Deebo Sameul has been the go to guy. He will be getting carries, running the entire route tree, and getting lost in pre-snap motion. Behind his return, Niners roll easy.
